Trail Mail
What's This?
There are several of these along the trail, mostly near trail access points. It's a pipe safe, a place to donate to Friends of the Little Miami State Park! See how many you can discover, and drop in a couple of dollars to help maintain our beautiful trail.

Share the Trail. . . With a Horse!
Safe Trails by Erick Wikum
Prior to researching this article, I treated horseback riders I encountered on the Little Miami Scenic Trail as I do other trail users. With my newfound understanding of horses and their nature, I will adopt a more cautious approach. Here’s some advice from the experts. Read More

From Canada to Texas
by Don Mills

What do you do when you retire? Walk from Montreal to Texas, of course!

My wife and I communicated with G Beaudoin's wonderful team about our desire to host her as she traveled through the Cincinnati area. We joined her in Loveland where she had been treated to lunch by Don Hahn, another FLMSP volunteer. Read More

Strout Rd. Bridge Open...
Trail users headed North out of Morrow will be happy to learn that the Strout Road bridge is now reopened after over a year being closed.
Riders will once again have access to restrooms, refreshments, first aid, free parking, camping, and picnic areas along the river at Morgans Riverside Campground. This popular stopping point is located at 6262 Gilmour Rd, Morrow on a beautiful, uncrowded section near Ft. Ancient. Dirk and Lori Morgan and staff are there 7 days a week throughout the summer to greet you!
... But Construction Will Continue:
North Trail Section: Construction projects between Strout Rd and SR 350, and between New Burlington Rd and Roxanna New Burlington Rd will begin mid-July. Once work begins and through September 10, contractors may close the trail for work on weekdays, but must re-open the trail on weekends--unobstructed and safe for users from 5:00 pm Fridays until 7:00 am Mondays. From September 11-October 31, the contractor will have full control of the sites and can close the trail for up to two weekends in each area. The contractor will do their best to minimize closures. For the safety of trail users and construction workers, please abide by all closure notices and barricades.
FLMSP Volunteers Clear the Way
The volunteer chainsaw team was busy after the thunderstorms on May 30th and June 1st. Two large trees came down that totally blocked the trail - one in Terrace Park, the other north of Miamiville. Many other downed trees could be walked around. Crews worked Friday and Saturday to clear the trail for the scheduled berm mowing the following week. Thanks to all of the hardworking volunteers!
Thanks to our good trail neighbors at the Monkey Bar & Grill (Train Stop Inn) for the flowers at the Fosters restrooms!
