"EL CORAZON DE HOMBRE" WORKING WITH LATINO MEN AND BOYS TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Alianza is offering a national one day, hands-on training workshop that will help participants to design programs that incorporate effective interventions and programming for working with Latino men and boys.
(This training is supported by Grant No. 2011-TA-AX-K091 awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.)
Participants in this workshop will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of issues that Latino men and boys face
- Learn how to reach out and engage Latino men and boys as advocates against violence
- Learn how men can work with and mentor boys
- Learn about what practical tools, interventions, materials and other resources that are available.
Who may attend? Advocates, men's group facilitators, batterer intervention specialists, prosecutors, law enforcement, judges, and other professionals. Attendance is limited to the first 50 participants who register.
 Faculty: The trainer will be Ricardo Carrillo PH.D, National Compadres Network founding member of the Círculo de Hombres, Director of training and Technical Assistance. Developer and collaborator of various curriculums for the prevention and cessation of domestic, gang, and community violence. He is Co-Editor of Family Violence And Men Of Color: Healing The Wounded Male Spirit.
Cost: The workshop is provided free of charge. Please note that participants are responsible for their own lodging, travel arrangements, and costs associated with attending the program.
