Training & Exercise Advisory Borah High School

The Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM) is facilitating and planning a Full-Scale Exercise at Borah High School in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday, July 18th from 7:00 AM until approximately 3:00 PM.

The exercise, which is closed to the public, is being conducted in coordination with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), and provides training and response to an active assailant incident. Along with IOEM, TSA, and ITD, participants in the exercise include the Boise Police Department, the Boise Fire Department, and Ada County.

Residents, and individuals traveling in the area, may notice an increased law enforcement presence. In order to address any potential calls from the public and/or media, IOEM and ITD are providing notices to the Boise School District and the City of Boise so the appropriate staff and neighborhood association officials are aware of the event.

On July 18th ITD Electronic Readerboards stating “Training in Progress” will be positioned at multiple entrances to the school including near the track.

A News Media Advisory regarding the training will be distributed July 17th. For media inquiries during the event, IOEM and ITD will have public information officials on site available to answer questions.
