A Transition Update from the Board
July 21, 2017
The Power of Faith
Greetings Unity Family,

We trust everyone's summer is going great. It's time for another board update, including some dates to remember.

First, the composition of the board has changed over the last few months. We are very comfortable with our current blend of spirituality, backgrounds, and varying points of view. Here's the lineup with areas of responsibility noted:

Jan Gauvain - President
Jason Jones - Vice President
John Criswell - Treasurer
Marianne Calvanese - Secretary
Tommy Potts - Community Engagement
Myla Rosebaugh - Volunteer Coordinator
David Conway - Recent Addition!

Second, two weeks ago we announced a change in our approach to our pending minister search. This decision was made with much prayer. As communicated, we are crafting a process that better suits us - without a Unity consultant - but we are absolutely getting lots of help! In fact, wonderful resources have steadily come our way, from Unity Worldwide, other Unity churches, as well as some familiar faces. In addition to a refreshed schedule of terrific speakers, here are a few recent & upcoming dates of note:

July 17 - Board Visioning session led by Kit Holmes
July 23 - Full launch of our Transition Affirmation
July 30 - Leadership Training session led by Doug Duerr, Unity of Houston
August 6 - HUG meeting & Input session with Neil Feiereisal, Unity of the Hills
August TBD - Community Survey administered by Kit Holmes
September TBD - Strengths Workshop led by Marj Barlow
September-November - Community Visioning sessions (x3) led by Kit Holmes

You may notice that Kit is a big part of our plans! We're thrilled to engage with her and benefit from her Visioning and Coaching expertise, as well as her familiarity with and love for our community.

We've made progress on other important groundwork, including a detailed project plan and the extensive information packet Unity Worldwide will use to publicize our minister position. Also, coming soon we'll have more details on how we think Spirit Groups can work for us. Our commitment is to work from your input, create a sound structure for growth, and build the collective vision that will carry us onward and upward!

Last, a word about our overall timeline. Our rough expectation is to hold candidate tryouts and make our decision in the first quarter of 2018. The holidays are the main reason we think this is a realistic schedule. If we can go faster, we certainly will.

We are so grateful for your engagement. As always, speak with any of us directly, or email us at  [email protected]. Join us in holding a positive, magnetic consciousness throughout this exciting time!

Prayerfully,
Your board
