Transit System/Partners

Initial designs for an intermodal hub in downtown Cleveland - with a recommended site and ballpark pricing - will be wrapped up by the end of the year, city planners say.

Fares for most riders would increase about 9 percent under a New Jersey Transit proposal announced on Monday in an effort to close a large budget gap at the agency.  Service on several rail and bus routes would also be reduced under the plan.  The agency's board of directors is expected to vote on the plan at its July 8 meeting after a series of public hearings. The fare increase would take effect on Oct. 1, and the service reductions would happen in September.  It would be the first fare increase for New Jersey Transit riders in five years, officials said. The state-run agency oversees a dozen commuter rail lines, three light rail lines and more than 250 bus routes.

Workforce Development

Huffington Post - April 27, 2015

It is 3:30 a.m. on a warm Houston April morning and as I prepare to participate in the Stand Up 4 Transportation National Day of Education, I am reflecting on the projects that my company worked on in the transit industry. Through our involvement in the design on Houston's light rail system; we ultimately help thousands of passengers go to work, school, church or to enjoy entertainment. And every day thousands of riders use smartcard fare collections systems that we helped to install on buses, rail platforms and in retail stores.
