Trees for Troops Program to be Honored at the White House
Thanks to you and the Christmas Tree industry, Trees for Troops finished in the top five of the White Houses Joining Forces campaign.
As you may know, in April 2011, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden launched Joining Forces , a national initiative to support and honor America's service members and their families. More than 300 applications were submitted and only 20 organizations were selected to be part of the online voting campaign.
On April 11, 2012, Trees for Troops will be honored at a White House presentation, along with the other finalists. We understand that five additional honors will be announced onsite.
Here is a sample press release we are asking members to share with their local news media to spread the word about this exciting recognition.
Be watching for more information on the additional awards via:
You can also help us spread the word that Trees for Troops raises money all year long to help with costs of the program throughout November and December. The website: www.TreesForTroops.org has all the donation options:
Thank you again for all your support and PLEASE watch for updates after April 11!
