Greetings!

Here we go again with this beautiful mess all over the place and I've rewritten this Shrimpnote three times. Up until I made a trip out to Sandy Ridge, our plans were to open Saturday. After making the trip out there, we are going to open at our usual times on Friday at noon and 1 at Mooresville/Lake Norman. Happy birthday to me! See you then.

Below is our planned schedule for the remainder of the winter, but is subject to change if brutal weather makes buying and selling seafood impossible. Stay tuned.


We are located Friday noon: 2301 Sandy Ridge Rd, (Fri,)Budding Artichoke and Saturday, 9 AM at 2913 Sandy Ridge Rd, (Sat.) Colfax, NC 27235 Cheerwine. (across from the Farmer's Market). We are located in Summerfield at 7403 Summerfield Road and open for business on Friday at noon and 9 AM on Saturdays. In Mooresville, we're always at Josh's Farmer's Market, 189 Williamson Road, Mooresville, 1:00 PM on Fridays and 9 AM on Saturdays.

 Our salmon is cut from whole fish into huge fillets which are the sides of the fish without bones. We cut these sides into collars, center cut strips, wide cuts, and tails. 
Collars are the fattiest of all the cuts and are best for sushi mi and sushi. Tails are the least fatty and are best for medium, medium well, and well-done salmon. Strips and wide cuts are best for grilling, broiling and sauteing.
Please specify which cuts you prefer.

GARLAND FULCHER'S CRAB MEAT
I've spoken with Jeff Styron, owner of Fulcher's, to see what our prospects for crab meat are during this winter. He tells me the supplies of local crabs are very small thus a very high price for local crab meat. Since this has been an issue in the Carolinas for a while and he understands retailers like us will have a very difficult trying to sell crab meat upwards of $40 per pound. During our time in business we've seen prices rise from the teens through the twenties with no limit on prices for fresh local product. Jeff has reestablished his connections in Mexico to have the crabs picked there, processed, and shipped to us here. This meat is very similar to our blue crabs here so we've decided to ride this out with him.
