Save the Date - Saturday, September 27!

Disciples-Making-Disciples Seminar

at TCC, from 8:30A-12:30P

Presented and facilitated by Vision New England.

(Cost - $10.00 per person)

The purpose of this seminar is 2-fold:

  1. MEANING - to help participants gain a stronger, biblically-guided understanding of what a Jesus-following, disciple-making way-of-life looks like
  2. LIFE APPLICATION - to help participants faithfully and effectively make this a reality in their daily lives.

This one day "learning community" experience will take place at TCC and all are welcome to attend!  Over the course of the seminar, we will be addressing and answering 3 critical questions:

1.    What is a Jesus "disciple"?

2.    How did Jesus make disciples?

3.     How can we imitate Him?

Register online here or sign up on the Communication Card on Sunday.

LIFE Groups

LIFE Groups is the small group ministry at TCC.  They are small groups of people who are committed to meeting regularly to experience Christian community.  LIFE Groups foster an environment in which people can grow as followers of Christ, as well as serve and bless others. LIFE groups are designed around four key values:

  • Learning: An opportunity to study God's word, and a commitment to grow as followers of Christ.
  • Intimacy: Being honest, authentic, and helping each other to connect and belong by caring for one another, and encouraging each other through the natural ebb and flow of life.
  • Fun: People who will laugh with each other, play together and celebrate life together.
  • Extending: Regularly serving together to extend the love of Christ to local towns and communities.

Why should I join a LIFE Group?

The Bible is full of "one another" passages that call us to be closely involved with others in order that we might learn and imitate the types of attitudes and behaviors that characterize Christian community.  LIFE Groups teach us how to:

  • Love one another (John 13:34)
  • Be devoted to one another (Romans 12:10)
  • Accept one another (Romans 15:7)
  • Carry each other's burdens (Galatians 6:2)
  • Forgive each other (Ephesians 4:32)

We grow as disciples as we grow in community!  Our desire is that everyone who is a part of TCC will become part of a LIFE Group.  If you are interested in joining a LIFE Group this fall, please contact Pastor Todd ([email protected]), and he will help you connect to a group.  For more information, go to our website: www/tccwayland.org/lifegroups.

Children's Ministries - New Directions for Check In and Pick Up - Please Read!

Check In:

Check In protocol is the same, EXCEPT only check kids (no parents) in. The printer will automatically print two identical name badges per child. The first name badge is for your child to wear as "Nametag".  The second is for the parent to keep and use as a "Claim Tag".

Pick Up:

When you pick up your infant - preschool child, please hand your "Claim Tag" (2nd name badge) to the leader, she/he will match it with child's "Nametag" and release your child.

When you pick up your Kindergarten - Grade 5 child, please enter the room and get your child.  As you and your child leave, hand your child's "Nametag" and your "Claim Tag" (2nd name badge) to CM leader at the door, who will attach them to the attendance sheet.

Volunteer Opportunities

For more information or to sign up to volunteer, please visit the TCC "How to Serve" page at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php.

Additional Ushers Needed - Especially for the Second Service

Our mission:  To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed: We really need to beef up our Usher teams.  Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience. You are representatives of God's kingdom - you're not just opening doors, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering.  You are making people feel welcome!

Could you help: 1 Sunday a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or call the church office at 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed

Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks) for deposit each Sunday, and we are in need of some new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help out.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!

If you enjoy a cup of coffee while chatting with others after Sunday service, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour! There is currently no one signed up. You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and clean up the coffee and tea! (Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)

Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members. If no one signs up, there are no refreshments or fresh cream!   Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact the church office at [email protected].

The TCC Food Pantry, "Loaves & Fishes" offers assistance to those of TCC and the surrounding community who need help with providing for themselves and their family.  If you are in need, please feel free to visit the church office for assistance from the food pantry.  The food pantry is open on Sunday mornings or during regular church office hours.

We gratefully accept donations to the TCC "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry .  There is a collection bin on a table near the lobby stairwell.  We only accept donations of non-perishable food and personal items.  We respectfully ask you not to donate any open or expired items - we just have to throw them away!

TOP ITEMS NEEDED:

Brown Paper Grocery Bags

Kleenex

Juices

Hair Conditioner

Rubber Gloves

If you have any questions regarding donations, contact Diane or David Newcomb at [email protected] or [email protected]
