Wonderful News about Rick Sacra - Praise the Lord!

"Wednesday, September 24, 2014

Breaking news!  On Monday, the doctors sent in Rick's blood samples from Friday, Sunday and Monday and this evening we learned that all 3 samples showed that he is

free and clear of Ebola virus!! We knew he was looking awfully good over the weekend!

Early Thursday, he will go through a long process of getting "cleaned up" and we will finally get to hug him at about 7:00am.  We will have a press conference at 10:30am Central Time (11:30 ET) which you can watch online on Nebraska Channel3 KMTV http://www.jrn.com/kmtv

We will be flying right home tomorrow afternoon on a charter flight courtesy of a donor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  So tomorrow night, Rick will get to sleep in his own bed.  Awesome!

Thank you so much for your prayers for Rick's healing from Ebola virus disease.  He feels completely humbled by the grace that has been poured out on him through your appeals to the throne of heaven.  We invite you to continue to pray and participate in SIM's prayer event next week: Pray to end Ebola.  Please join us and SIM in a week of intense prayer "on behalf of those infected and affected by the Ebola virus, for the sick and dying, for the courageous health workers, for grieving families, for pastors trying to serve their churches and communities, for government officials and decision makers who formulate policies and responses, for protection for those working in educating communities, and for all those waking up each day to the devastation of Ebola."  For more information see www.praytoendEbola.org

Abundantly blessed, Debbie and Rick"

Trinitarian Congregational Church, Wayland, MA
Cost: $10 per person

Join us for our high-energy, 1-day learning-community experience focused specifically on helping Christ followers across New England understand and engage in the Matthew 28:19-20 "Disciple-Making" paradigm. Topics include "Disciple-Making Defined", "The Incredible Commission", "Sowing and Reaping", "Why Sunday-Only Isn't Enough", "Heart Values of a Disciple-Maker", "A Way of Life, A Way of Leading".

Using Jesus' life and teachings as our primary reference source for information and guidance, this seminar has been created to serve two key purposes:

  • To help each of us gain a stronger, biblically-guided understanding of what a Jesus-following, disciple-making "way of life" looks like
  • To help each of us faithfully and effectively make this a reality in our daily lives.

Seminar study materials will be provided.

Saturday Night Life (SNL) - This Saturday at 5P

Pastor Chris will be preaching this week.  Saturday Night Life is our contemporary worship service at TCC.  SNL's mission is to invite people to experience God's grace through the message of Christ and to grow together in Christian community.  Our hope is to help connect people to God and His story by extending the love of Christ to the Metro West area.  SNL offers a casual atmosphere, so come as you are!

The Teaching at SNL This Fall Will be Different from Sunday Mornings.
Here is a glimpse of what we will be teaching at SNL this fall:

"Come..."  A Series on the Invitations of Jesus

There is something everyone loves about being invited to something or somewhere with someone.  To hear the words, "come join me", "come on over", or "come, hang out with me" sends a message of inclusion, acceptance and connection.  The gospels are filled with examples where Jesus invited people to come and join him.  What does Jesus invite people to?  Where does Jesus invite people to go?  To become?  This series will help you consider the invitations of Jesus, and his call on our life.

Preaching this Sunday

Pastor Chris continues preaching about the Disciple Making Journey, with "Part 4: Sowing, Reaping & Barriers".

Parking Issues at TCC - Please help!!

As everyone knows, parking is very limited in our TCC lot. If you are physically able, please park remotely in the Town Building Lot (see  Town Building parking lot map.) You may drop off people or paraphernalia and then proceed to the parking lot. This will leave parking spots for visitors, the handicapped, our older population and those with young infants and toddlers. Please do not park along the sides of the driveway, as these areas must be kept clear for fire lanes.

A Note From David Spinale

 Hello TCC,

I wanted to let you all know that I have reached a point in my fundraising where I am allowed on campus! Consequently, I am in the process of moving to Manchester, where I will be allowed to work with students on campus 40hours/week. I wanted to take this opportunity, and thank you all for several reasons.

Thank you for supporting me! It has been a huge blessing to see how many people support me and the mission in Manchester. And, it's amazing to see how God has worked in your lives to give in how quickly He has helped me raise my budget. It has been the truest affirmation that He desires me on campus in Manchester by how he has worked in the congregation at TCC. Thank you.

I also want to thank TCC for always giving me a home church to come back to. I have loved and been challenged by the preaching, encouraged by the congregation and was even able to have fun at Monday night hoops. It has been a blessing to be here for as long as I have and thank you for taking me in and sending me out. I will certainly be updating you on how God is moving in Manchester and will likely be making visits as well. Thank you for all you have done for me and most importantly, thank you for listening to God.   I encourage you as individuals and as a body, to continue growing from within and sending out. It's amazing how God has blessed us and chosen us to be used for his Kingdom. God bless!

David Spinale

Volunteer Opportunities

For more information or to sign up to volunteer, please visit the TCC "How to Serve" page at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php.

Additional Ushers Needed - Especially for the Second Service

Our mission:  To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed: We really need to beef up our Usher teams.  Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience. You are representatives of God's kingdom - you're not just opening doors, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering.  You are making people feel welcome!

Could you help: 1 Sunday a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at office@tccwayland.org or call the church office at 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed

Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks) for deposit each Sunday, and we are in need of some new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at Contributions@tccwayland.org or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help out.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!

If you enjoy a cup of coffee while chatting with others after Sunday service, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour! You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and clean up the coffee and tea! (Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)

Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members. If no one signs up, there will be no coffee! ( How to use the Coffee maker - click here)   Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday, or contact the church office at office@tccwayland.org.

The TCC Food Pantry, "Loaves & Fishes" offers assistance to those of TCC and the surrounding community who need help with providing for themselves and their family.  If you are in need, please feel free to visit the church office for assistance from the food pantry.  The food pantry is open on Sunday mornings or during regular church office hours.

We gratefully accept donations to the TCC "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry .  There is a collection bin on a table near the lobby stairwell.  We only accept donations of non-perishable food and personal items.  We respectfully ask you not to donate any open or expired items - we just have to throw them away!

TOP ITEMS NEEDED:

Liquid Cleaners - Lysol, Pine Sol, Mr. Clean, etc

Condiments - Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, relish

If you have any questions regarding donations, contact Diane or David Newcomb at diane.newcomb@comcast.net or david.newcomb@comcast.net
