Greetings!
In this program year, we have read through the whole Bible, using The Story; we have seen our choir continue to grow in numbers and musical achievement; we have remodeled the basement of Honyman Hall, and commissioned artwork especially for that new space. Our attendance is up, now averaging over 160 per Sunday; our giving is strong; our Vestry members and officers are deepening their faith and gracefully taking the mantle of spiritual leadership on their shoulders. In short, Trinity is on the right path, carefully listening for God's call to us at each step along the way.
And now it is time to think about the next big step. Whether you have been a member of Trinity for eight years, or eight weeks, your voice is vital in the coming conversations. God trusts this community of faith with His precious Gospel good news, and now we are called to talk together about how we answer that faith, that call, that love. This is not about building a building - it is about building the kingdom of God and sharing His love with our brothers and sisters.
I hope I can count on you to be present at Sunday's all parish meeting, and at a subsequent focus group session during the month of June.
See you on Sunday!
Peace,
Anne Marie+

This Week At Trinity
Sunday - June 10
All Parish Meeting
(Please note: Only ONE service at 10am!)
After the 10:00 am service you are all invited and encouraged to attend an All-Parish Conversation in the Hawes Room in Honyman Hall as we enter the initial phase of our work towards a Capital Campaign to secure and enhance the ministries of Trinity Church.
Trinity is poised to be a vibrant faith community that offers its members opportunities to make a difference in their own lives and those of others. In order to do this, we need to talk to each other about the things that we think we are being called to do. Then we need to plan to make it happen. These plans may include some building renovations to create the space we need to do what we want to do.
Sunday is your first opportunity to get involved in this process. We will be joined by Ms. Leslie Pendleton of the Episcopal Church Foundation who will describe the systematic steps we'll be following . In addition, we will have information describing what we already know about Carr-Rice House. Most importantly, Sunday will be your first chance to sign up to attend small focus group meetings which will be held at various parishioners' homes throughout the rest of June. Come and get your questions answered.
If you can't make it on Sunday, sign up to attend a focus group by contacting the church office at 846-0660 or by e-mailing Barbara Roos at adminassistant@trinitynewport.org. Barbara will be able to take your calls starting Tuesday, June 12th.
Monday - Friday, June 11-15
Guiding in the Church, 10:00am to 3:00pm
Wednesday, June 13

Thanks to all of you who have made this a journey of faith and exploration. Even if you haven't been in for a while, please join in for this last session.
Look for a great follow-up in the Fall. |

A Friend in Need
The Salvation Army has reached out to us as a Partner in Ministry. They are seeing a very large increase in use of both their food pantry and soup kitchens. Is it possible for you to either give a monetary donation to purchase food and/or volunteer to come Mondays through Fridays from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Newport Salvation Army Center? If you would like to help, please contact Lts. Kevin and Helen Johnson at the Salvation Army Newport Corps and Community Center at 51 Memorial Blvd., Newport, RI, 401-846-3234. |
Congratulations to Jane and Ted Roach who will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their wedding at Trinity on Saturday, June 16th. |
