A Note from Pastor Zehnder

Session # 4 of "Foundations" takes place this Saturday at 4 PM in the Fellowship Hall! Come ready to be "drenched!" in the waters of Baptism! Last Saturday we spoke of the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This week we will be amazed to hear how in Baptism that holy Name is stamped on our hearts forever.  A new identity is given. It's God's divine IDignity process!  Luther's Explanation of the sacrament of Holy Baptism will be read, discussed, and thoroughly enjoyed. Guaranteed!

Bring your Bibles and your copy of the Catechism. Get ready to be amazed!  I am looking forward to it. If you have not been to this "Foundations" event, come join us for this Baptism discussion! It's a happy throng! 4PM in the Fellowship Hall. Light refreshments and good fellowship!

Trinity Resurrection!
On Saturday and Sunday, February 4 and 5, congregational President Ted Lange will be addressing us about the urgent matters, really urgent matters, we are facing. You will not be surprised I am sure to know that we are speaking about financial matters.  Your Leadership Council is stepping up at this time, considering how each member of that team can set a pace which will lead us to a successful handling of this matter.

You will hear about "Trinity Resurrection" which points to a Victory and solution. Please pray for this effort!

Worship this weekend
"Fist-fights and tasteless salt!" These have something in common. The first, "fist-fights" is from God's spokesman, Isaiah. The second comment about "salt" is from the lips of the Word Himself, Jesus the Christ. These words are used to bring us to attention concerning our spiritual life and our "Christianity." Get prepared to hear tough and unsettling words. The faint-hearted should probably stay home. (Please don't.)

Looking forward to worship with you this week end! And I also look forward to President Ted's words, and our actions which will surely follow. Stay tuned!

SOUPer Sunday Collection
WOW!  With the help of the parents in our infant through 4 year old school, we filled two grocery carts with soup cans and other food items.  The Christian Service Center is coming to pick them up this week and fill their pantry shelves.  Thank you Trinity!

Trinity Support for IDignity
This is OUR month to intentionally sponsor IDignity with a $400 collection needed for volunteer lunch, and the physical presence of volunteers from Trinity at the event.   IDignity sponsors monthly assistance in obtaining Florida ID cards and licenses, birth certificates, Social Security cards, replacement immigration records and various other documents to those who struggle with red tape and finances. Thursday, February 16 is designated TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH sponsor day. How YOU can help:
  • Come out to volunteer
  • Donate toward the cost for volunteer's lunch - we need $400
  • Share resources to help with  the $100 per person cost of "personhood" and dignity.
Restoring dignity and hope is the motto which are words Christians speak when they show the action of their faith.   Contact Deaconess Liz: or 407-488-1919 X 127 for information and sign-up

Bunco Babes
This Thursday, February 9, all women and friends of Trinity are welcome to attend a bunco party.  We meet in the first loggia room (closest to the Livingston parking lot) at 6:30 p.m.  Food, laughter, and fun for 2 hours on a Thursday evening.  Don't miss out!  If your birthday falls on an even day, bring food snacks or drink to share.  If your birthday falls on an odd day, bring a $15 gift to give away as a prize.  This is our Valentine Party Time.  Contact Deaconess Liz with questions: or 407-488-1919 X 127.

Loose Change Changes
The Lutheran women in our congregation and other Lutheran congregations collect pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters (and certainly larger paper money) and call the donation "mites".There are some new boxes waiting for you to take them home and fill 'em up!  LWML asks everyone to purposefully collect loose change and bring those "mitey mites" to the collection box in the east narthex (where the drinking fountain is located).   Mite boxes and donations are welcome all year long.  Any questions?  Contact Mary Lou at

Thank You!
Servant Saturday is past, and what a wonderfully fulfilling day it was serving together as a Trinity family, reaching out to the community with hearts for service and witness! Under the leadership of Outreach Ministry Team volunteers Ken Boggs, Peggy Trapp, Lynn Hogan, Marcy Shively, and Debbie Holly, we had 43 more of the Trinity family gather together to serve... men, women, children, who each spent 3 hours helping in our downtown community at:  Grand Ave. Primary School, the Orlando Rescue Mission Bargain Thrift Store, and Coalition for the Homeless. It was a fulfilling day, stories galore, and all eager to repeat our Servant Saturday in the future.   Look for our list of volunteers, and some pictures in the church narthex.  God bless you dear, giving volunteers!

Box Tops Goal $2000
We are well underway to meeting our goal for the 2016/2017 school year - which is $500 higher than last year!  We can do it, but only with YOUR HELP! Please remember to cut those box tops and bring them to a school office or the dropbox in the Narthex.   Remember...It's free and only takes a few seconds to clip !  This is a great way to help earn money for Trinity' school ministry!  We have currently collected a grand total of $9517.49 since we began this program.  Keep it  going!  Every little bit helps! If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Walters @

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.

Invest with LCEF and Save Trinity money!
If you haven't already, please consider opening an LCEF savings account.  The more investors mean the higher the rebate check will be next year.  Savings account investments start as low as $25 for children under 18 and $100 for adults.   If your child is new to Trinity Lutheran School in either the CDC or K-8 programs Trinity will donate $25 to start the account.  Adult investment accounts with LCEF benefit Trinity in the same way the Youth Investor accounts do, so parents and church members, you can participate as well!  You can apply online at .  For more information, please contact Bruce Hahn at 407-701-3234 or email .

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.   In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x100).  During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate care givers.  For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend, there is an option on our auto-attendant to dial 9 for immediate assistance (listen to the entire message).  We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results.    Just let us know.  Thank you.
