During months with a fifth Sunday, we collect funds for the Pastor's Discretionary fund to assist with emergency needs, and collect food donations that will be donated to a local food pantry. This month, we'll collect food and funds on the weekend of July 28 & 29. Food donated this month will be given to Hubbard House of Orlando Health.

Campus Work Day Saturday, August 4
Trinity's Back to School Campus Work Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 4 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am, with lunch provided afterward. We need all hands on deck to beautify the campus for the start of the school year, guests on campus for Open House and Backpack Blessings, and preparations for moving the pastoral offices back to the main campus!  We'll be moving the school library from its current location to make space available for the new school office in Heritage Hall. Your assistance hauling books and shelves as well as weeding, cleaning and beautifying our campus is very much appreciated!! THANK YOU!

Help for Hawaii - The Ripple Effect
Don't forget, we're collecting gift cards and school supplies for our long distance neighbors in Hawaii through the first weekend of August.  The whole Trinity family is participating, and Pastor Mark Zier of Christ Lutheran Church in Hilo Hawaii, will ensure that our donations go to the families who need them. You can read more in your weekly and in the recent blog post shared on the website and Facebook. Gift cards should be for businesses in Hawaii that the families can access: Safeway, Walmart, Target, Sears, Home Depot, Shell Gas, 76 Gas, Walgreens, Firestone, and Goodyear Tire.  Please drop off your gifts in the donation box in the Narthex. Once the collections are complete, we'll ship the gifts to Hawaii with funds received from a Thrivent Action Team grant. Thank you for being a part of the ripple effect of acts of kindness!! http://church.trinitydowntown.com/acts-of-kindness-create-a-ripple-effect/

Looking for a Place to Serve Behind the Scenes?
The Altar Guild is a great place to serve behind the scenes to support worship needs. The Altar Guild is made up of multiple teams that serve together on a scheduled rotation throughout the year (one month of service each rotation). Each team has 4-6 members, and serves about twice a year. Setup for weekend worship services on an assigned month takes approximately one hour per weekend and is usually completed on either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning determined by each individual team. The individual team members are assigned to specific worship services based on individual preference and availability. (ie: if one person prefers/attends the 8am service over the 11am). The service requires only about 15 minutes of the individuals time to verify everything is properly setup. Then, after the 11:00 am service, (usually assigned to a person who regularly attends to that service) the cleanup is done which takes about 30 to 40 minutes.  Full support and training is provided until you are completely comfortable in your new role! If you'd like to learn more, please contact Connie Sobel at 407-341-8993.

Backpack Blessings
Join us for Backpack Blessings during worship services on Sat/Sun, Aug 11 & 12.  Students of all ages, and from any public, private or homeschool are invited to bring your backpacks to worship! Pastor Doug will offer a special prayer for students and will bless the backpacks that are carried with you all year long! Each child will receive a special tag for his or her backpack that day. During these worship services we'll also dedicate all Trinity faculty and staff as well as anyone serving in local schools. Join us, and invite a friend or neighbor - invitation cards are available in the Narthex!

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers.  For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text us at 407-490-7339 and leave a message. We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know.  Thank you.

Strength & Flexibility
You're welcome to join us on the first and third Mondays of each month for a fitness class at 6:30pm (new start time) in Fellowship Hall. Email Beth @ baschu4@bellsouth.net  to confirm you're coming. Class starts at 6:30 pm, please arrive by 6:20 pm. Thank you! Bring With You : an exercise mat (and block if you have), $5, Comfy clothes, smile and enthusiasm!

Summer Sunday School Passport Adventures
Check the Narthex (lobby area of Sanctuary) for your child's Summer Sunday School Passport Adventure where each weekend, you can pick up your booklet, complete the learning activity during worship, and receive a stamp at the end of the service from the ushers in the narthex.  Children can earn prizes for their stamps which will be awarded at the Fall "Rally Day Sunday" after the 2018-2019 school year begins (date TBA). These passport booklets will hopefully encourage our families to worship together while giving the children something to do to help focus their attention on the worship service. If your family visits another church on vacation, please bring in the church bulletin and your child will receive a stamp for that Sunday.

Box Tops
Please remember to cut those box tops and bring them to church during the summer  months. We would love to get a jump start for the 2018/2019 school year!

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
