Greetings!

Hello Beer Lover!

If you are a retailer, be forewarned: Trooper is coming.

It's not business as usual for us with this beer. Iron Maiden fans are very engaged and eager to try the beer that lead singer Bruce Dickinson crafted with Robinsons brewery of Stockport, England. Call your Robinsons distributor (listed below) to make sure you get in on this!

All the best,
Lanny

You may have heard about the newest beer from Robinsons Brewing of Stockport, England. They've teamed up with legendary metal band Iron Maiden to create this new ale, and lead singer Bruce Dickinson was instrumental in recipe development and marketing approach.

Last month Bruce gave a tour of the newly renovated Unicorn Brewery and it was obvious that he has a great understanding and love of British beer. He's geeked to be involved!

We expect the beer to be available in the US by the end of July. Quantities, at first, will be quite limited. The distributors below are going to be getting beer on the first wave, please contact them for more information.

The brewery reports that initial sales of Trooper have been well ahead of their target and that repeat sales are strong. If you are a retailer in one of these states, you would be well served to stock up when it comes in!

We have never handled a beer that had more advance enthusiasm. And it's coming from a new quarter: people that are not necessarily fans of good beer. Iron Maiden fans love the band so much they can't wait to get their hands on it. Be prepared, Retailer and Distributor, Iron Maiden fans are not to be trifled with!

New Limited Edition Meantime Beers Available Now!

Meantime Barley Wine Label Barley Wine is now in stock. 750ml and 1/6 bbl. kegs are now available. A robust beer which showcases classic English beer ingredients. Malty and very full-bodied, with aromas of dried fruits, honey and toffee. Typically beautiful Meantime.

  Meantime Weizen Double Bock

Like the classic German beers of this style, Weizen Double Bock is a big, arresting beer with delicious sweetness and a full, round body. Try with highly spiced foods or a big plate of kraut! It has a finer body and less carbonation than many examples of the style, which will make it a bit more drinkable. 750ml and 1/6 bbl kegs.

La Blanche Trans Glass

St. Feuillien La Blanche

Consider this beer as a mix of the outstanding St. Feuillien Tripel and the soft, wheaty Grisette Blanche. It's slightly stronger than many wheat beer at 6.3% and sports a full body and long finish with summer fruit, a bit of mint and a delicate bitterness. Truly unique.

Coloring Outside The Lines

So. . . this Trooper thing.

Yeah, I know what you might be thinking. It's just a gimmick. It's a cynical way to cash in for the band, the brewery and Artisanal. The beer is probably cruddy.

Let me set you straight, friends. It's no gimmick. I've spoken with Bruce Dickinson. I've looked him in the eye and seen a man who is not only sincere and serious about making his ideal beer, but a man who is also very, very excited to expose people to British beer.

And that's really where we come down on this thing. Trooper is not a beer for the hardcore beer tourist. It's a beer for everyone else. It's easy to drink, yes. But what's so bad about that, if it brings more people into fold? It's a very well executed quality beer by one of the most respected brewers in all of the UK. They happen to specialize in session beers, which are on the rise in the US.

If it seems on first glance that Trooper makes no sense in our portfolio, I would ask that you reconsider. We want more people to drink quality beers instead of selling to the same group all the time. We think that Trooper is a fun, quality beer that will appeal to an untapped group of drinkers and might make them ask "what else is out there??"

So, friends, we salute Trooper and all of the Iron Maiden fans out there. Welcome to craft beer!

Sincerely,

Lanny Hoff
