Greetings!

Hey, It's Ju, True Colors' GSA Coordinator with some updates you will want to check out.

It has been a heck of a year so far! Let's take a look back at what has happened in the past month: Students from GSA's all over the state joined in a discussion about labels at the CT Youth Forum which True Colors helped plan; current GSA's connected with one another while new ones formed; laughter was on overload at the Sean Saves the World premiere in the True Colors office; Mentors and Mentees met at the Bushnell Theater for the Connecticut Forum on Coming Out, and True Colors' first summit of the year kicked off!

There are tons more events happening! Take a look at these coming up and stay tuned for more. (Watch your email for our 20th Anniversary holiday celebration coming up in early December!  You won't want to miss that!)

True Colors needs 2,000 people to donate $20 or more in honor of our 20 year anniversary. (True Colors has touched more than 100,000 lives over the last 20 years. 2,000 is 2% of that legion of people.) I

f we have touched your life or the life of someone you love, now would be a great time to give back. We could really use your support!  $20 dollars to celebrate 20 years of service -  a little goes a long way!  Spread the word.

Crowdvance is a project started by college students who want to make a difference. Donors get rewarded with exclusive offers from many great stores - and True Colors gets 100% of your donation! (Most on-line donor programs take as much as 15% in fees for the use of their services.)

Casting Gay Athlete for MTV

TRUE LIFE: I'M A GAY ATHLETE

Is being gay affecting your game? Is your love for sports interfering with the love of your life? Is your desire to be the MVP keeping you from coming out to your coaches and teammates for fear of losing their acceptance? Are you worried that embracing who you are will keep you from getting an award or scholarship? Is your boyfriend or girlfriend tired of keeping your relationship a secret to keep you team captain? Maybe you're open about your sexuality but still feel discriminated on the court. Is being a gay athlete keeping you on the bench? Are you putting aside your feelings "for the good of the team?"

If you appear to be between the ages of 16 and 24 and want to share the struggles and triumphs of being an athlete within the LGBT community, email us at
[email protected] to be considered for an episode of MTV's True Life produced by Emmy-award winning Gigantic! Productions. Tell us why we should draft you and be sure to include your name, location, phone number and a recent picture of yourself.
