Trump Supporter Threatens CAIR-Minnesota with 'Camel Jockey Piercing' Ammunition
(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 7/7/2017) - The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today called on law enforcement authorities to investigate an apparent threat sent to the civil rights organization by a supporter of President Donald Trump.
CAIR-MN said the obscenity-laden email, with the subject line "Muslim sewer rats," was sent yesterday to its office and to the address of CAIR's Southern California chapter. It stated (grammatical errors maintained):
"Hey there Muslim PIG SWINE. We MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of PATRIOTS, armed to the teeth with HUNDREDS of millions of weapons, with literally over 50 BILLION rounds of horrific, violent camel jockey piercing rounds of ammo. We have a LEADER in the White House, now standing for JUDEO-Christian values. . .You have mistaken European White Males patience for weakness. Get ready to have a war. . ."
"This type of threat targeting American Muslims, their institutions and their leaders is becoming increasingly common. It should be investigated as a hate crime by law enforcement authorities and repudiated by state and national leaders," said CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein.
He noted that just today, CAIR called on people of all faiths and backgrounds to "push back" against an online smear campaign targeting Linda Sarsour -- a nationally-known and respected Muslim community activist -- using #IStandWithLinda.

Last month, CAIR-MN welcomed a 39-year prison sentence for Anthony Sawina, who last year shot at five Somali-American men in a car on their way to prayers, injuring two.
Earlier this month, CAIR-MN called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate an alleged assault on a North Dakota Muslim as a possible hate crime.

CAIR's national headquarters in Washington, D.C., has noted an unprecedented spike in hate incidents targeting Muslims and other minority groups since the November 8 election.
In response to that spike in hate incidents, CAIR is offering Muslim community leaders free copies of its booklet, "Best Practices for Mosque and Community Safety."
The Washington-based civil rights organization recently launched an app to share critical "know your rights" information and simplify the process to report hate crimes and bias incidents. CAIR is urging Muslims to download the app and utilize this resource to stay informed and empowered.
