Lights! Camera! Food Co-op!
The Queens Harvest Food Co-op is looking for some creative people to help with an Indiegogo online fundraising project.
We need to create a fun and engaging 2-3 minute video outlining the project so we are looking for people with experience developing, shooting and editing video.
We also need people to : - Help dream up and gather fun donor prizes for different pledge levels
- Write copy for the campaign homepage
- Spread the word about the campaign
The goal of the project is to raise $10,000 to pay for a feasibility study that will help us figure out the best best location/size/form of the Co-op, and how the store can best serve the residents of Western Queens. We want to get started on this ASAP so if you are looking for a way to put your creatives skills to work on behalf of the co-op send us an email at finance-queensharvestcoop@googlegroups.com.

Join the Queens Harvest Buying Club for Fish! Chocolate! Pies! Meat! Dairy! Veg!
Although we don't have a physical store yet, we are launching the Queens Harvest Buying Club on April 13th. Right now, the Buying Club is open to all active committee members, and by mid-summer we hope to open it up to everyone who wants to join the co-op. Not a committee member? Read below about how you can pitch in right now! The Queens Harvest Buying Club offers great prices on fresh food from local farms, delivered on a monthly basis to a central location near the Queens Plaza subway hub.
So far, our vendors include:
- Brooklyn Grange
- Mast Brothers Chocolate
- Fresh Fish from DeMartino's
- Incredible Quiche from Cafe Patisserie Lafayette
- Melt-in-your-mouth Pies from Delicious Laughter
- Beans and Grains from Cayuga Pure Organics
- Meats, Dairy, Bread, Honey, Fruit and Vegetables and more from Lancaster Fresh Farms Cooperative and Regional Access
If you want to get involved send an email to QHbuyingclub@gmail.com. HELP! We really need skilled computer help because we're on the verge of choosing a software program to simplify the ordering process. We also need volunteers who can work during the day on our distribution days. The next distribution day will be May 16. The deadline to order will be May 6. By mid-summer the Buying Club will be open to everyone who joins the co-op with a partial membership payment of $50.
