scores!

I'd like to share some staffing changes for the 2017 - 18 school year. I am sorry to announce that the following teachers will not be returning to STS next year; Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Byrnes and Mrs. Covington.

Mrs. Wright has decided to spend time with the newest member of her family, her new son, Alexander. We wish her and her family much joy together this coming year.

Mrs. Byrnes husband recently received a job transfer, so the Byrnes family will be moving this summer. We wish them safe travel and continued blessings.

Mrs. Covington has decided to leave at the end of the year. We wish her much success and contentment in her future career pursuits.

We thank these amazing, dedicated and passionate education professionals for sharing their love of learning with our entire community. You will be greatly missed and will remain in our prayers

I am pleased to announce that we have a new second grade teacher. STS parent, Mrs. Elizabeth Spaulding. Mrs. Spaulding comes to the STS instructional team with over 14 years of teaching experience. She holds a B.S. (Elementary and Special Education) from the University of Delaware and an M.A. (Reading and Literacy) from Walden University. She also holds a VA license with endorsements in Elementary Education (Pre-K to 8th) and Special Education (Pre-K to 12th). Mrs. Spaulding will be taking on Mrs. Byrnes' class.

Please know that we are currently interviewing numerous credentialed candidates for the open teaching positions and will keep you posted on our hiring decisions.

In the next week, our Enrollment Management committee will be sending out our annual parent satisfaction survey. We ask that you please participate in the survey as your feedback will guide our efforts in developing our annual strategic school improvement plan. As has been the tradition in past years, we will conduct a drawing of all the survey participates for a $500 award. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

As promised, here is the new pricing schedule for next year's Aftercare program. As you can see we have made significant reductions in our fee schedule to accommodate the needs of our families. We have reduced our monthly, daily and multiple child rates by an average of 30% across the board.

Monthly :
K - 8: $300
Pre-K: $350

Daily:
K-8 -   $25
Pre-K - $30

Multiple Children (flat rate)
K-8 - $600
Pre-K - $700
PreK & K-8 - $650

Middle school parents, please note that we will be collecting the Chromebooks and power cords on Monday, 6/12. 6th and 7th grade students are asked to return them to Ms. Nash or Mrs. Cowan in the STEM Lab.

The Power school parent portal will be closed on Thursday, 6/8, so teachers can enter their grades.

I am extremely pleased to announce that all four of our PTO Executive officers will be returning next year for a second year. They did an amazing job this year and we are so blessed to have them back. As is the case every year, we will still provide every family with an option to cast their vote for each officer position. Attached, please find a ballot that includes boxes for each position. We ask that you please cast your vote.  Cast your votes here  for our PTO Officers for next year.

The final deadline for yearbooks is  June 9th! There are still about 50 left. Parents can ONLY purchase their yearbooks ONLINE by clicking on this link. Even if you order your yearbook online, students will have them for the school wide yearbook signing on  Tuesday, June 13th at 9:30 in the gym and cafeteria.

We love you Father Weymes!
You are a wonderful cook and a gracious host!
Clinic News:
A first aid kit and EpiPen emergency box are now mounted on the wall in the school kitchen.  The first aid kit and Epipens are for emergency use only.

Many STS staff are certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.  We encourage everyone to learn how to perform CPR since CPR with early use of an AED saves lives.
Always note the locations of an AED wherever you go, especially at our school and church:  outside of school main office, entrance to middle school, and vestibule of the church.

End of Year Clinic Reminders:
Parents of students with EpiPens, inhalers or other medication in the STS clinic:   please remember to come to the clinic on the last day of school to pick up and sign out medications.  At that time, we will give you new medications forms so you have plenty of time to have them completed before the first day of school.

Please be aware that any medication not picked up from the clinic within one week of the summer dismissal will be disposed of according to state regulations.

Attention Parents of Rising 6th graders:  Remember to send in proof of your child's Tdap immunization before the first of day of school.  We sent home letter to all 5 th grade parents about this requirement.

Have a blessed week!

Mrs. Mary K. Rogowski, MSN, RN, FNP

have a great summer

This summer STS will be offering a program called "SummerNet," It is St. Timothy School's summer program available to all STS students who will be in 1st - 6th grade during the 2017-2018 school year. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth for each child. SummerNet gets its name because the word "net" is involved in the three main components of the program: faith, soccer, and technology.  For more information please click   here or you can email   Mr..David Scoffone   with specific questions.
