Mr. McLaughlin's Tuesday Tidbits Overview for 5/30/17

Quick Links:

Dear Parents,

I'm happy to announce that we have a new second grade instructional assistant, who will be working with Mr. Caughlan next year. Mrs. Heather Hitchcock, an STS parent and former teacher will be joining our 2nd grade instructional team next year. Mrs. Hitchcock has taught for over 12 years and has also served as an instructional assistant. She holds a Masters of Education (Elementary Education) from Saint Joseph University, a B.S. (Elementary Education) from Central Connecticut State University and a VA Collegiate Professional License (grades Pre-K - 6). Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Hitchcock to our instructional team.
Fr. Weymes!

As you know, our beloved Pastor Father Weymes will be retiring this year after 18 yearsof dedicated service to St. Tim's Parish and School. If you would like to make a donation toward his gift from the school community, I ask that you please submit it to Mrs. Kathy Moses in the office. We will be presenting the gift to Father Weymes on Friday afternoon when the students say their final goodbye to him at a surprise assembly at 2:15 in the gym.

I am pleased to announce that we will be reducing our middle school technology fee for Chomebooks. The new annual fee will be reduced to $100. Starting with our current eight grade class, there is no longer a buyout fee. Our rising eight grade students will not be charged next year, as they already satisfied the total "new" lease to own fee of $300.

Next year our rising 6th and 7th grade students will be charged a $100 fee and in the subsequent year, the class of 2019 will only be charged a $50 fee at the start of their 8th grade year. If the 8th grade students would prefer to donate their Chromebooks to STS (after graduation), we would greatly appreciate their generous donation! Please note that all new students will need to satisfy the total $300 lease to own fee if they'd like to own the Chromebook when they graduate. If you have any questions regarding this new fee structure, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Cowan, Ms. Nash or me.

 TREATS for TANZANIA!
freeze pops

On Monday, June 5, The Mission Commission will be selling Freeze Pops at all lunches.  They are raising money for Miss Bielaski's school in Tanzania and will sell for $1 each.  Students can also bring separate a financial donation.  Our donations will help to provide meals for the students of Cheka School.  Checks should be made to STS, but please write "Cheka School" on the memo line.

In the next few weeks our new 2017 - 18 pricing for aftercare will be released. Please know that after much parent feedback, consideration and research, Mrs. Elise Facciolo and I have decided to lower our prices to better accommodate our families in need of after care. The new pricing structure includes significant reductions in our monthly, daily and multiple child rates.

Please check out Mr. Pryor's Monthly Academic Newsletter in today's Tuesday Tidbits.
