A special word of thanks to our 4th grade parents, the food from Guapos was amazing and much appreciated.

After Friday's school Mass our students will be recorded saying a decade of the rosary. This will be included on a new DVD that includes the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend Mass this Friday, 2/24.

This is an advance notice that we will be conducting a Lock down drill this week.

Middle School parents, if you'd like a copy of all the websites your children are visiting on their Chromebook's, w ithin the next week, you will receive a weekly email update on your student's chromebook activity from Securly. In addition to weekly updates, you will be able to signup for a parent login to see up to a month's chromebook search activity. Expect the first report around March 2nd. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Nash at lnash@sainttimothyschool.org

I'd like to congratulate our 8th grade students on their impressive showing last week in the annual faculty alumni basketball game. The final score was 71 to 58 and it could be said that the students schooled the faculty / alumni team.

Mrs. Black, Mrs. McCarthy and the PTO will be on hand Friday,  February 24th co llecting wine for the wine pull during the morning carpool. A big thank you to everyone who have already sent in bottles of wine! We appreciate your support!

Clinic Update:

nurses corner
We have had a diagnosed case of Fifth Disease in our school. Signs and symptoms of Fifth Disease are a fever, runny nose and headache. There can also be a "slapped cheek" rash with this disease as well. For more information, please go to www.cdc.fifthdisease to find out how you can best prevent the spread of the disease.

We are continuing to see flu like symptoms in the clinic and a few more cases of the flu have been reported in our school.  Flu like symptoms include headache, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting, lots of times with a sudden onset. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting the flu vaccine each year...it is not too late!

If your child is diagnosed with the flu or any other communicable disease, please let us know.  Along with the flu vaccine, good hand washing practices are the next best way to prevent the spread of the flu and many other illnesses. Handwashing is like a "do it yourself" vaccine, according to the CDC.  There are 5 simple and effective steps. Wet, Lather, Scrub, Rinse, Dry! For details on the best technique and best times to wash, click here.

Reminder for 5th grade Parents: Rising 6th graders: The State of Virginia requires a TDaP booster immunization prior to entering 6 th grade. It may be helpful to make your appointment now and hand in proof of immunization before the end of the school hear. Otherwise it must be submitted before the first day of 6th grade
.
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Julianne Duffy, RN, BSN
Mrs. Mary K. Rogowski, MSN, RN, FNP
