Manitowoc Public Library (MPL): Manitowoc native Patrick Dewane's grandfather refused to talk about his service in World War II. But, he wrote about it. After his death, his grandfather's basement yielded a treasure trove of typewritten accounts, photos and rare film footage. Patrick turned this incredible story into a one-man, multimedia show titled "The Accidental Hero," which he will be performing at the Capitol Civic Centre in May. Before the curtain rises, however, he will be presenting an informative, entertaining lecture at MPL on Wednesday, April 19, 6:00pm, in the Balkansky Community Room regarding how Patrick transformed family stories into an engaging theatrical experience.
