Lester Public Library (LPL): Our weekly Tuesday 10:15am Story Times for preschoolers have resumed for the New Year. Manitowoc Public School District: 4K Open Houses will be held at Riverview School, Head Start at Riverview, Manitowoc-Two Rivers Y, and Lakeshore Child Care on Sunday, January 28, from 1:00 - 2:30pm. Parents can attend to learn about wrap-around childcare, get questions answered, and pick up registration forms. Children who will be 4 on or before September 1 are eligible for 4K in fall. Registration begins on February 12. Call (920) 686-4786 with questions.

Manitowoc County Historical Society will look at the history of the Rouse Simmons on Thursday, February 8, at 5:30pm at Holiday Inn - Manitowoc (4601 Calumet Ave).  Best-selling author and storyteller Rochelle Pennington will host a presentation that will explore the tragic loss of the Rouse Simmons, better known as "The Christmas Tree Ship," during a November gale in 1912. City of Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department is offering golf instructions on Mondays, February 5-26, 6:00 - 7:00pm for youths ages 7-15 and 7:00 - 8:00pm on the same night for ages 16+. Fee is $32 Residents; $48 Non-Residents. You need your own set of  clubs. Registration deadline is January 26. Dan Shambeau from Eastwin Valley Golf will demonstrate the proper mechanics of golf. A limited amount of funds are available and your needs must fit within our mission statement. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered.
