Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Glimpses of God
Jesus said to the disciples: "Allow the children to come to me....I assure you that whoever doesn't welcome God's kingdom like a child will never enter it."  As we begin a new school year, we'll take a lesson from our children and their childlike faith.  Sometimes our understanding of God is far too small and so, using some classic children's books, we'll look for glimpses of God in the stories we tell our children.  In this 4 week message series through September 3, we'll find that God is far bigger than we could ever imagine, while being challenged to have childlike faith.

This Sunday's sermon title is "Good and Generous," by Rev. Steve Price, and based on the children's book, The Giving Tree (  Matthew 7:7-11, John 10:11-15 & James 1:17-18).
Mission Box
This week the Mission Box is for The Christian Study Center.  They have been facilitating a Christian understanding of life and culture in the university community for 16 years. Along with their programs for students, faculty, community, and clergy, they host Pascal's Coffeehouse, a place for thoughtful conversation and coffee created with care. This year they are also building conversations as part of a capital campaign to steward their building and partnering with the City of Gainesville to receive a matching grant for the fa├žade work. Visit their website for more info on all of their programs. (text 2 give keyword: christian).

Adult Ministries
Perspectives (Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8pm, E209), a weekly discussion group, will be reading and discussing the book Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People beginning September 13.  Books are $13 and available at the bookstore.  Our hidden biases influence the way we behave toward others and make it difficult to understand and communicate with those who don't share our politics, ethnicity, income level, educational attainment, and more.  This group is a safe place to explore our biases so that we might better align our good intentions with our behavior toward the "other." For more information contact Julie Crosby.

Tuesday Morning Moms (9:30 - 11:00am, E203/204) will begin a new study on September 12 called Jesus the One and Only by Beth Moore. Participant books are $18 and available at the bookstore or the first day of class.
