Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Deeply Rooted
Jesus began one of his most familiar parables with "A farmer went out to scatter seed." He frequently used images and illustrations from everyday life to teach his followers about what it means to grow as disciples, as well as some of the struggles and difficulties we encounter along the way. This year during the season of Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter, we'll listen to some of these gospel episodes again; we'll be challenged and encouraged to develop the practices that help us experience God's marvelous love and grow deep roots as disciples of Christ.

This week's sermon will be "Throwing Caution to the Wind" (Mark 4:1-9, 13-20) by Rev. Catherine Fluck Price.
Ash Wednesday Service
Join us tomorrow, February 14, for a special time of worship marking Ash Wednesday, the first day of the season of Lent. We will gather that evening at 6:35pm for a unique and meaningful service in the Worship Center with seating in the round (will replace the normal 6:35 service in the Chapel). This day historically marks the beginning of a time of preparation for persons of Christian faith. We turn our hearts to God and recommit to walking the journey that will lead us to the cross, where we encounter the depth of God's love, and on to an empty grave, where we find hope in the power of God's love even over death.
Mission Box
This week's Mission Box supports Rwanda Sustainable Families, Investing in Communities: Empowering Lives. RSF is a team of volunteers who fund-raise to provide small loans for families to start businesses, receive medical insurance, place children in school, and work in artisan cooperatives supported by RSF. In country, there is a team of Rwandans in charge of the programs including a preschool for 125 of the poorest children who are now fed daily and are learning they are valuable citizens who can make a difference in the world.  (text-to-give keyword: rwanda)
