Tulita students love to read!
This has been the most successful year of Battle of the books here at Tulita. All participants combined read a total of 948 books since the beginning of school! We had a total of 96 students from 3rd-5th grade registered to commit to reading a list of books from the National Battle of the books list since October. 79 of them met their minimum reading requirement and participated in the battle at school. We had the highest participation rate from our 4th and 5th grade students ever and formed a total of 8 teams!
The participants met once a month during their lunch break with our wonderful and supportive teachers to discuss books on the list. Most of the meetings had at least 40 students in the classroom, and some meetings even had 50 students.
We can't thank you enough for all the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers who gave up their lunch break and their classroom for our readers. A big shout out to Dr. Bruna for her continued support and being the most experienced Family Feud host for our battles. In addition, we thank Mr. Jerry for setting up the rooms on the battle days, and Ms. Danielle, our librarian, for allowing our participants to borrow additional BOB books. Thank you!
Last but not least, Good luck Yellow Team at the district Championship Battle representing Tulita on April 25th!
