E4T Rivera Mexican Grill 6/12

Thank you for joining us in showing an abundance of appreciation to our teachers and staff at Tulita. Our TSAW Committee did an awesome job each day making sure our teachers felt loved and knew how truly grateful we are for all that they do. Thank you Melissa Boice, Allyn Leoff and Chelsea Erickson for your time and creativity!

We had our final PTA meeting on Friday last week and our budget for 2017-18 school year was presented by our Treasurer-elect and approved by the association. If you have any questions regarding our budget for this year please email me at [email protected].

As the school year comes to a close and this is our final newsletter of the year, I'd like to take the opportunity on behalf of Tulita PTA in thanking each and every member for their membership, support, donations, volunteer time and team work. We have such a strong community and a solid PTA, we should be proud!

Tulita PTA won a membership award this year and we became members of the '100 Club' within CAPTA which means our membership surpassed our enrollment, we have never had so many members! We encourage you and family to become members again next year and help us continue to advocate for our kids and have a voice within our council, district and state PTAs.

Its been a pleasure to serve as President and I'm excited to hand over to Ali Daly who will lead our PTA with professionalism and knowledge. Her experience as both a teacher, parent and active community member will be invaluable for our school. Thank you Ali for stepping up to the role!

Hope you all have a wonderful summer, enjoy the rest and spend quality time with loved ones. See you in August at our Teacher Meet n Greet on Tuesday August 29 from 1.30pm.

(Look out for our Summer Postcard in your mail with some key dates for the upcoming school year!)

Hands On Art
We are full of gratitude for the passion, commitment and leadership these two ladies have given Tulita's Hands on Art program for the past two years.

Thank you Jen Edwards and kristen Jacob!

Running Club

Tulita's running club is not just for exercise it's a social event.  Over 170 kids registered to chat and run before school starts.  Three times a week, 25 minutes and over 3000 miles have been covered by the little feet of Tulita runners. The final tally of how many miles run will be announced at the family picnic as well as our top runners will be awarded and all of our marathoners for the year will be recognized. Have a great summer everybody and let's kick off next year with the biggest running club ever.

Warmly,
Casey Schwartz, Running Club Chair

Music

On May 5th, TK and Kindergarten were treated to a Drum Circle from the company, Free to be Me! This assembly replaced their Field Trip and allowed the students to listen to as well as play a variety of percussion instruments.

On May 17th, Craig Nelson of Dream Shapers gave an unforgettable and educational music performance to our 1st and 2nd graders. Students learned folk songs from the past!

At our last PTA meeting on 6/2, our Kinder AM classes truly melt our hearts by singing "Put a little love in your heart". Here is a video if you missed their performance.

Thanks to our resourceful committee chairs, Stacy Henry and Hayley Salus, for coordinating these fun assemblies!

  Reflections 2017-18 - "Within Reach"
Next year's theme for 2017-18 reflections is "Within Reach".

The PTA Reflections Art Contest is a great way for your child to express themselves in many different artistic ways. There are six arts categories to choose from – dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

Summer will be a perfect time to work on it. For more information and rules, please go to  CAPTA  website.  Entry form will be available in August and submissions are due in October. Make sure to check our PTA website for more updates!
