McLean VA estate sale set for Oct. 20-21
We had to push back by two weeks the estate sale mentioned in the last newsletter because we found so much stuff in the home that we needed more time to get ready. Make definitive plans to head to McLean, Virginia on Oct. 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The list of items up for sale is way too long to cover here but a partial list includes a fantastically comfortable leather couch set, bumper pool table, Willie Mays autograph, Victorian lamp and a modern lamp in the form of a bull fighter, eye-popping art, old fishing rods, china, records, signed cast iron figures, modern furniture, African musical instruments and a mountain of mantiques and antiques (tables, chairs, trunks and so much more). The owner was a true collector and this estate sale is going to be an absolute haven for people who love fascinating stuff.
Don't forget to monitor this newsletter and the Orion's Attic blog for the address and more details as they become available. We anticipate selling more items at this sale than we have ever sold in one weekend! (Shoppers and homeowners alike loved the last Orion's Attic estate sale in McLean.) The house is also going on the market and a Realtor will be standing by to greet people interested in learning more about this great home.

Oct. 13 Upscale Yard Sale offers great deals to raise money for Pyramid Atlantic
Orion's Attic is proud to host the second annual Upscale Yard Sale to raise money for the nonprofit organization Pyramid Atlantic in Silver Spring, Maryland on Saturday Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale at Pyramid Atlantic (8230 Georgia Avenue) will feature a wide range of items that include gold and silver coins, modern and antique furniture, vintage toys, high-end and wall art, china, stemware, records, stereo, a few still-in-the-box electronics, home decor, costume jewelry and more.
Orion's Attic generated $3,100 for Pyramid Atlantic during last year's sale and hopes to top that number this year. The money supports a great contemporary arts center dedicated to the creation and appreciation of hand papermaking, printmaking, digital arts, and the art of the book.
There is still time to contribute to the sale. Contact the Attic's Christopher Lancette about donating high quality antiques, collectibles, art, jewelry or other vintage items. All donors will receive a tax receipt from Pyramid Atlantic from Pyramid Atlantic.

Horsing around in Maryland
Orion's Attic isn't just a company. It's a way of life. We try to capture that in the blog on our Web site. Check out our latest adventure, "Horsing Around Somewhere in Western Maryland" to see what happens AFTER we stocked some shelves in Cumberland, Maryland. Be sure to click on the video to watch a particularly hungry horse munch on Chris's head while Won-ok kept the camera rolling.
Check out our blog on a regular basis to meet the fascinating people and explore the beautiful places that Orion's Attic encounters on the antiques trail. You'll also find links to new posts on our Facebook page.
