What an exciting week this has been for golf around the world, The Masters has started, the azalea's are blooming, Augusta National announced the Inaugural 2019 Augusta Women's National Amateur Championship, Jack Nicholas's grandson, Gary, had is first hole-in-one ever in the Par 3 Tournament at Augusta caddying for his grandpa, the SCJGA had another successful Golf Ball and Masters Viewing Party event last night, the USGA has opened volunteer registration for the 74th U.S. Women's Open at the Country Club of Charleston May 30 - June 2, 2019 and it's only Friday.

The WSCGA would like to "sponsor" a hole during the open; which means all hands on deck. In order to do this we will need a minimum of 50 volunteers for the week for our hole and the USGA will need a total of about 2500 volunteers for the week organized under 17 committees . These positions include: Marshals, Player Services, Leader Boards, and Merchandise. Volunteer assignments come on a first- come first-served basis. Interested Volunteers should Click Here.

All volunteers will need to purchase the volunteer package for $85. This includes one championship golf shirt, one championship jacket, one championship hat or visor, one water bottle and one volunteer credential valid for all seven days of the championship, as well as access to volunteer hospitality with complimentary food, snacks and beverages on the days they volunteer. Each volunteer will be asked to complete four (4) five-to-six hour shifts throughout the duration of the championship.

If you have never been to an open, professional golf event, or part of such a fantastic event, please sign up. I promise you will be happy you did and most likely do it again. It's the greatest professional golf tournament in Women's golf!
