COS Highlights
The University of Central Florida and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have reached a historic agreement that will establish a permanent conservation research facility along the Brevard County coastline. Read more 
UCF's Community GIS and Citizen Science REU site scholars were invited to present their research to the U.S. Embassy in Belize. Read more

University of Central Florida biologist Christopher Parkinson, Ph.D., led an international team of scientists to the discovery of a new species of venomous snake. The team's findings have been published in the July issue of the academic journal Zootaxa. Read more 
James Wright, Ph.D., Pegasus and Provost Distinguished Research Professor in the UCF Sociology Department, is making strides for the senior community with the Table Sixty initiative to address the issue of senior food insecurity in Orange County. Read more
Student Stories
UCF Biology student Shelly Gaynor has been named the winner of the 2016 Golden Opportunity Scholars Award for her outstanding contributions to agronomy through education, service, and research. Read more 
This summer, Manar Elkhaldi and Marcos Degaut will be the first students to graduate from the UCF Political Science Department's Security Studies Ph.D. program. Both students plan to graduate this semester on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at UCF. Read more
