About the screening:

One of the most ambitious and brilliantly executed American films, The Godfather 2 brims with suspense, intrigue, glamour and murder. Written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the film stands on its own and is one of the best films of the golden era of filmmaking.

Starring Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro, dual stories are set in the worlds of mid-century Cuba and Las Vegas and the old world of Sicily and New York in the early 1900s. The first story tells of the early days of Vito Corleone as he embraces a life of crime and wrests control of the neighborhood. The second story is of his son Michael as he leads the Corleones to take over Vegas and become the biggest crime family 50 years later. Winner of 6 Academy Awards, join us for the epic movie on the big screen in our city’s most opulent historic movie palace. Shown in glorious 35mm film.

Explore the theatre’s ballroom, fountains, balconies and spectacular powder room on six floors as we transform it into a 1950s Vegas resort with dancers, live music, casino games and DJs. Dress up 50s glamour for our free themed photo studio and get your portrait taken in the world of The Godfather. With full bars on five stories of the theatre, this is a 21+ event with valid ID. Miramax Lands Mike Vukadinovich’s ‘Rocket Cola’ Script

Mike Vukadinovich (MFA '07) penned the script with Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal on board to produce through their Escape Artists banner. Jenna Block, who used to work for Escape Artists and is now an exec for Miramax, brought the package to the recently revamped studio.

The story follows twin brothers with opposite personalities who are separated at a young age and go on to live drastically different lives. They’re eventually reunited and join forces to save the “Rocket Cola” company, despite being in love with the same woman.
