UCPS Career Fair
Prospective teachers: Come to the Union County Public Schools (UCPS) career fair prepared to interview, and you can leave with a job.

UCPS will host its annual career fair for prospective teachers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Weddington High (4901 Monroe Weddington Road, Matthews).

During the career fair, UCPS school leaders and administrators will interview candidates for teaching positions in all grade levels for the 2018-19 school year. Highly qualified candidates have the potential to receive an early hire letter for the 2018-19 school year. College graduates who have a bachelor’s degree are also encouraged to attend the career fair to learn more about how they can start their career with UCPS in a lateral entry position.

Additionally, candidates who attend the career fair will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can increase their salary through a number of incentives. UCPS teachers have the potential to add up to $14,000 to their annual salary by working at one of the school district’s focus schools or up to $12,250 by working at one of the district’s 13 high priority schools.

Interested candidates can register for the Career Fair and complete the Job Fair Quick Form on the UCPS website prior to attending the career fair.

In Case You Missed It
UCPS Realignment Update
On Tuesday, April 10, UCPS began processing grandfathering requests for the 2018-19 school year. The district is using an online system called Scribbles to process the requests. You can access Scribbles by visiting the Realignment webpage on the UCPS website.

Parents will need their child’s student ID number to access the portal. To request grandfathering, parents must complete the information in Scribbles by Monday, April 23.

To confirm your student’s 2018-19 school assignment, visit the Realignment website, click on 2018-19 Attendance Zones and type your address in the search bar.

Please note, parents will not receive a letter in the mail with information about their child’s 2018-19 school assignment. If you would like to accept your grandfathering option, complete the application in Scribbles by April 23.
Parents will be provided additional information about student transfers once the grandfathering process is complete.
