Union County Public Schools celebrates the many accomplishments of the thousands of graduating seniors in the Class of 2018.

Whether our graduates plan to continue their education in college, serve in the military or join the workforce, students in the UCPS Class of 2018 are leaving our classrooms equipped to succeed in college, career and life.

By the Numbers: UCPS Class of 2018
$135 million in scholarships
The UCPS Class of 2018 earned a record-breaking $135 million in scholarships. This surpasses the previous record by more than $9 million!

Weddington High graduates earned $31.4 million in scholarships, followed by Piedmont High graduates ($25.2 million), Marvin Ridge High graduates ($18.8 million), Cuthbertson High graduates ($12.9 million) and Sun Valley High graduates ($12.3 million). 
2,400 total scholarships offered
UCPS Class of 2018 graduates received a total of 2,400 scholarships.

That's a 6 percent increase as compared to last year!
90+ post-secondary plans
Out of the 3,305 UCPS Class of 2018 graduates, 59 percent will attend a four-year school, 26 percent will attend a two-year school, 11 percent will enter the workforce and 3 percent have enlisted in the military.

Central Academy of
Technology & Arts
This fall, Central Academy of Technology & Arts graduate Sam Jackson will attend the NASCAR Technical Institute -- a move that will put him one step closer to fulfilling his goal of working on a racing team and owning his own car garage.
Cuthbertson High
Best of luck to Cuthbertson High graduate Christian Heinzelman as he heads to Western Carolina University this fall! Click the image above to see why Spectrum News selected this graduate to be one of their Everyday Heroes.
Forest Hills High
Congratulations to these Forest Hills High graduates, who will be going to South Piedmont Community College this fall!
Marvin Ridge High

Parkwood High
Congratulations to these Parkwood High graduates! This year, a record four Parkwood High students earned JROTC scholarships, which will cover their full tuition, books and fees at their respective colleges for four years.
Piedmont High
Piedmont High graduate Trey Mical was selected to participate in South Piedmont Community College's (SPCC) Apprenticeship Program, where he will get work experience at Greiner Bio-One while attending classes at SPCC at no cost to his family!
Porter Ridge High
Best of luck to Porter Ridge High graduate Isidora Zegers Darrigrande, who plans to attend the University of California at San Diego this fall!
South Providence
South Providence graduate D'Marea McGill is college bound! Best of luck to D'Marea as he heads to Livingstone College this fall.
Sun Valley High
Sun Valley High graduate Roy Artolozaga received congressional appointments to both West Point and the United States Merchant Marine Academy! He will head to West Point Academy this fall.
Union County
Early College
Fifty-four Union County Early College graduates earned not only their high school diploma but also an associate's degree -- at no cost to their families!
Weddington High
Congratulations to Weddington High graduate Ashley Willingham who will attend Appalachian State University. This aspiring teacher wants to return to UCPS to teach at Weddington High after graduating from college.
Wolfe School
Congratulations to the Wolfe School Class of 2018! We're so proud of you all, and wish you the best of luck in the future!
