UCS Presents at Statewide Conference on Poverty
Valorie Carson, Director of Community Planning, and Kathryn Evans Madden, Poverty Project Manager, presented a session on Reducing Poverty and Creating Opportunity through Multi-Sector Planning and Collaboration at this week at the 2016 Kansas Conference on Poverty.
The workshop offered an overview on our community's strategic framework to decrease poverty and increase opportunity through a multi-sector collaborative. Based on the framework for action developed and implemented by UCS and our planning partners, the session provided examples of completed work, lessons learned, challenges, and best practices.  By sharing our experiences, we hope to inspire attendees to think about how they could apply poverty reduction strategies in their own communities.
