Keeping Kids Safe, Comfortable, and Even Entertained for Imaging.

Children have special needs when it comes to imaging. To this end, UCSF Imaging has made considerable progress in putting children and their families at ease for a positive imaging experience. Staff are committed to the special needs of children, and child-focused equipment and facilities create an environment that results in the best possible patient care.

Children are greeted by a team of child-life specialists. Scan suites decorated with themes like "undersea adventure," and the option of entertainment such as watching videos during MRI, help reduce the amount of anesthesia and imaging times while obtaining valuable information.
