Research
Dr. Jonathan Scheffe Investigates the Use of Solar Lighting for Pedestrian Crosswalks   
  
Dr. Jonathan Scheffe of the UF Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering completed a FDOT-funded project which looked at using integrated lighting to enhance pavement markings and visibility at crosswalks.

UFTI Affiliates Evaluate the Monitoring System on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge 

Dr. Jennifer Rice and Dr. Justin Davis of the Department of Civil & Coastal Engineering completed a  plan for a fully integrated and highly flexible monitoring system which includes a user-friendly Web interface with full data archiving. The data to be collected will be useful for setting loading and response thresholds and for bridge management decisions.

NaviGators AMS Win First Place at the 2016 Maritime RobotX Challenge

The UF NaviGators AMS team won first place at the Maritime RobotX Challenge, an international event held December 11-18, 2016, in Oahu, Hawaii. The team was awarded $15K for winning the competition and $5K in the Team Video and Appendix categories.

McTrans HCS7 Released!


Following the publication and review of the  6th Edition of the Highway Capacity Manual by  the Transportation Research Board (TRB), McTrans has released the new version of the Highway Capacity Software (HCS7).

Several students presented their posters at this year's 96th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in Washington, D.C. including  Gustavo de Andrade, Zhibin Chen, Kiarash Faribozi, Eleftheria Kontou, Marilo Martin-Gasulla, and Liteng Zha.

Doctoral Student Don Watson Receives the UTC Student of the Year Award

UFTI Hosts Annual Reception during the 96th TRB in Washington, DC


More than 150 people attended the UFTI's reception on Monday, January 9, 2017, during the 96th Meeting of the Transportation Research Board. The event was held at a local DC restaurant. Guests included st udents, alumni, academics, transportation professionals, and friends of the UFTI.
