Deja Jackson Named 2017 Lifesavers Traffic Safety Scholar This month, Deja Jackson, a civil engineering doctoral student, was named a 2017 Traffic Safety Scholar and awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend the 35th Annual National Lifesavers Conference. At the conference, Jackson was given the opportunity to view the diversity of opportunities in traffic safety and the latest research, evidence-based strategies, and proven countermeasures for traffic safety problems. Dynamic Shear Rheometer Workshop
The UFTI's T2 Center is hosting a Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) Workshop on April 12, 2017,
at the UF East Campus (T2 Center). This workshop is ideal for current SmartPave DSR users, laboratory personnel using other DSR models, and those planning on adding a DSR to their lab in the future.

UFTI Students Participated in ESSIE Poster Competition
Last month, the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment (ESSIE) had
40 undergraduate and
graduate students present research posters to professional engineers from Florida. Several students affiliated with the UFTI attended, and one student, Sinead Crotty, tied for second place in the poster competition.
