cleanupITE Student Chapter @ UF Hosts First Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup
This past month, on October 15, 2017, the ITE student chapter at UF conducted their first roadway cleanup event. Gator ITE adopted 1.68 miles along W. University Avenue as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program. From the Holiday Inn at 13th Street and W. University Avenue to the Swamp Car Wash at 924 E. University Avenue, their team cleaned the road, collecting eight litter bags.

"As transportation engineers, we want to give back to our community by cleaning the roads to provide a pleasant experience for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers," said Pedro Maldonado, ITE Student Chapter President. "We do this event four times a year to enrich the beauty of our streets and enrich our members with the Gainesville community."
