Each strand of yarn represents a person. As we went around to different parts of our lives that the trees represented, we discovered our connections to each other.
September Rally Brings Youth from Around New England Together
The weather was almost perfect for our first youth rally of the year. Youth from ar ound New England gathered to talk about "Common Ground." We discovered how people with different opinions on very sensitive issues can work together to find places of common ground.

The work is not easy and ground rules such as respect, courtesy, patience, and the ability to understand people's feelings had to be followed. As always the youth showed us all that it is possible. Many people expressed frustration with what they see as bad role modeling by adults.  Many thanks to Amy Griswold for all the work she did getting ready for the weekend

Mechuwana Youth Council

Our Youth Council, along with a small group of adults, plans and runs our youth events throughout the year. They are responsible for all the worship services and assist in the leadership of activities during the weekend. Being on Youth Council is a great way to put your faith into action. If you would like to know more about these positions, please talk to a current Youth Council member or adult chaperone at the next rally.

A Very Special Youth Event: The Christmas Rally
One of the highlights of the year for all of us at Mechuwana is the December rally. At this event, youth bring toys that are given out to local families through a program called the Cottrell/ Taylor basket program. This partnership was established many years ago and continues to provide families with food, shelter, funds, and Christmas gifts generated by Mechuwana youth. The rally has many very meaningful worship services, like our candlelight service held outside, and special music by our own praise band. Applications will be out soon, we hope to see you.
