This week, we’re proudly able to take another step forward toward providing greater equity for our students and communities.
As the second largest employer in Memphis and largest school district in our area, we boldly took the lead, with the support of our Board members, to ensure all of our full-time (FT) employees receive a living wage of $15 per hour.
Since the majority of our FT employees are SCS parents or grandparents, we see this as an investment in our students.
The living wage increases will be reflected in the paychecks of 1,200+ FT employees on May 18, 2018.
As part of our commitment to everyone who has chosen to work for SCS and support our students, our Compensation Department will continue to analyze salaries for all employee groups to ensure equity.
