UPDATE: River City High School Lockdown
Dear Families, Staff, and Community Members,

We want to provide you with the latest update regarding today’s lockdown at River City High School (RCHS).

This afternoon, the West Sacramento Police Department Investigations unit arrested a male juvenile who attends River City High School for a violation of California Penal Code section 422, making “Criminal Threats” which is a felony.

If any members of the public have any further information regarding this incident, we encourage you to contact the West Sacramento Police Department at (916) 375-6275.

Please be advised that school will be back in session tomorrow for a regularly scheduled day, which also happens to be a minimum day at RCHS.

We know how difficult this type of ordeal is to cope with—school counselors and support personnel will be available on campus to assist teachers and students tomorrow and throughout the remainder of the week as needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the RCHS main office at (916) 375-7800 with additional questions.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership with us in addressing the safety of our schools and community.
