Patton, had a front-row seat for the induction of four new members to the school's athletics Hall of Fame, but by the end of the night, and to his surprise, he was on stage giving an impromptu speech after being named the fifth member of the 2014 class. | More

UPIKE Athletics welcomed five new members to its Hall of Fame yesterday. The class of 2014 includes Kayla Bandy, Justin Lamb, Randy McCoy, and the 2008 women's bowling team. Chancellor Paul Patton was also surprised as an honorary member. | More

Beshear Announces Office in Pikeville

The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development is establishing a Kentucky Innovation Network office in Pikeville. The office, on the University of Pikeville campus, will provide much-needed assistance to startup companies in the Appalachian region. | More

Welcome to UPIKENEWS, the official newsletter of the University of Pikeville Alumni Association.

 

They did it! 286 graduates walked across the stage and received their diplomas on Saturday; the UPIKE Community is so proud of you. This month's newsletter celebrates the many accomplishments of our students and our alumni, offers summer reading suggestions from our faculty, and highlights information about our upcoming UPIKE Class Reunions this summer.

 

As valued alumni, we want to hear about you and include your stories in upcoming issues of the newsletter. Please send us your stories and pictures and help us celebrate our UPIKE alumni. Do you have a generator sitting in your garage that you are no longer using? If so, then please view the Want Ads section of our website and consider donating this equipment. New Athletics Director Named
Robert Staggs, UPIKE Class of 1992 

Dr. James Hurley, president, recently announced that Robert Staggs has been named athletic director for the University. "As an alumnus and a member of the UPIKE family for many years, Robert brings a wealth of experience to the position, including serving as interim AD. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding our outstanding athletic programs and the student-athlete experience to new heights," said Hurley.
