Help UPark Win the IKEA Life Improvement Challenge

University Park Elementary has made the cut to the top 3 applicants in the 7th Annual 'IKEA Life Improvement Challenge' - a challenge that gives us the chance to win a makeover from IKEA Centennial.

This makeover will help us with our Room to Read Initiative which utilizes IKEA furnishings in our library and throughout the school to create safe, functional, inviting and well-designed reading nooks and spaces.

Helping us win is simple.  All you have to do is go to www.IKEA-USA.com/lifeimprovementchallenge and vote for UPark Elementary.

You can vote once a day from March 27th until April 10th. It's that easy!

gameplan
Game Plan for Success
Vote for UPark Everyday Until April 15th!

Game Plan for Success has nominated University Park Elementary School as one of three schools in the whole state to be considered for a $5,000 grant and a visit from a professional athlete.

The Game Plan for Success project chose us because of our reputation for the great work we've been doing setting high standards and coming up with a "game plan" for achieving them. In order to win the special visit we need to garner the most votes.

Help us win by voting here: http://www.gameplanforsuccess.org/colorado/
You can vote once each day until April 15th. And don't forget to tell your friends to vote too.  Thank you for your support!

spin
ONE DAY ONLY: Contribute to the Auction and Spin the Wheel for a Prize!  (Tomorrow Morning, Friday April 8)

Our "contribute to the auction" and get a chance to Spin the Wheel for a prize was cut short by that crazy snow storm in April.  We are bringing back the wheel for ONE DAY ONLY.

If your child or family contributed to the auction but didn't get a chance to spin, please come to the wheel tomorrow and have the kids tell our volunteers to get a chance to spin.   If you have NOT yet contributed to the auction, this is your last chance. Click HERE to see the kinds of donations we're looking for.

Every spin is a winner... for both the kids and the school!

Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior.

Last week's students include: Jacob Chase-Cho, Matthew Lee, Josie Goltra, Freal Sassi, Carlee Erb, Manner Stuckey, Cooper Bullock, Amelia Hall, Grace Treusein, Sindey O'Connor, Gabby Pappas, Nicholas Buchenau, Emerson Cord, Shreyas Rao, Violet Penzenstadler, Mia DeZeeuw Spencer, Gabby Santaella, Rayna Moss, Emily Steward, Luciana Salgado, Julia Treusein, Zach Alleman.

Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.  Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation.
*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls(all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
