Random Acts of Kindness Week
February 13-17

UPark supports kindness in our school.  To show this, we will have a week dedicated to Random Acts of Kindness.  HERE are some Random Acts of Kindness examples.

Monday, February 13:    Compliment Day
Find the "Compliment Wall" and leave someone a nice note!

Tuesday, February 14:  Thank You Note Day
Write someone a thank you note.

Wednesday, February 15: High Five Day
See someone going above and beyond? Give them a high five to thank them for their kindness!

Thursday, February 16: Positive Notes Day
Be on the lookout for positive notes and pictures around the school.

Friday, February 17: Random Acts of Kindness Day
What can YOU do to put a smile on someone's face?

We hope these activities will continue to grow kindness in our community.

Thank you,
UPark Student Council

Be our Valentine!  Join us Tuesday, February 14th at 9:15am in the Art Room for our PTA Meeting !  In addition to hearing about what's going on at UPark,
we'll have free coffee, and maybe a Valentine's Day treat!
Remember, you do not have to be a current member to join us for PTA meetings.

Don't forget to reload and use your King Soopers Grocery Cards !  We are
halfway to our goal of raising $12,000 through the King Soopers Grocery Card
Program.  We need your help to make our goal.  PLEASE remember to reload your card before checking out.  You can also use your King Soopers card to buy gas at King Soopers, City Market and Loaf and Jug gas stations.  This is the easiest way to give  back to UPark's fundraising efforts to keep our class sizes low!  Send us an email if you don't have a King Soopers Card or need a new one.

Wellness Party Reminder

UPark encourages celebrations, keeping in mind healthy foods.  We care about our children's health!

When having class parties, we ask for foods and beverages that benefit our students' ability to learn as well as their overall well-being.  Consider providing fruit/veggie trays with yogurt dip or cheese trays while keeping sweets in moderation.  Feel free to contact your teacher or room parent if you have any questions or would like to bring in food to share.

Thank you for promoting wellness at UPark!

Waste FREE Wednesday Lunch

UPark's Student Green Team is working hard to reduce "landfill" trash!  Please help by packing lunch with washable, reusable or compostable containers on Wednesdays or once a week.

Our lunchroom has a compost can for food scraps and napkins.  We hope to avoid using plastic baggies and wrappers.   UPark students have seen sample Waste Free Lunchboxes.  Here is a   PICTURE  showing how to pack a Waste Free Lunchbox.

Thank you for being "GREEN".

It's not always easy to explain how schools get money and spend money in DPS. Here are some resources from the central office.

This 2-page handout contains basic and detailed budget information.

This 3 minute animated video walks through how funds follow students, how those funds may vary based on student status, how student enrollment plays into the process and more.
