Principal Update:

Please be considerate of the neighboring church and do not walk the private property between the church and their garage.  The noise becomes disruptive when mass is held during the day and it is also a safety issue for the church. Thank you for your cooperation.

PTA & CSC News

Thank you to everyone who came to last week's PTA meeting.  You can see the meeting minutes HERE Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 3 at 6 pm.

The CSC reviewed and approved the 2015-16 budget during last week's meeting.  DPS has projected next year's student enrollment to decrease by about 15 students, causing a budget reduction close to $60K.  The CSC approved the following plan to balance the budget in light of the reductions:
  • With the retirement of Mary Foster, the 1.0 Technology Teacher position will become a .5 blended learning/personalized coach.  The new position is still being crafted by Principal Varveris and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Our Social Worker will move from 5 to 4 days per week.
  • Administrative Support for mandatory observations moves from .5 to zero.

Unfortunately, the decrease in budget cannot be backfilled by PTA funds.  However, PTA contributions become even more critical to maintain the high level of para, teacher and student support.

For more in depth information on the budget, please review in the CSC Minutes from last week.
