Green Team

Waste FREE Wednesday Lunch

UPark's Student Green Team is working hard to reduce "landfill" trash!  Please help by packing lunch with washable, reusable or compostable containers on Wednesdays or once a week.

Our lunchroom has a compost can for food scraps and napkins.  We hope to avoid using plastic baggies and wrappers.   UPark students have seen sample Waste Free Lunchboxes.  Here is a   PICTURE  showing how to pack a Waste Free Lunchbox.

Thank you for being "GREEN".

School Budgeting 2017-2018

It's not always easy to explain how schools get money and spend money in DPS. Here are some resources from the central office.
This 2-page handout contains basic and detailed budget information.

This 3 minute animated video walks through how funds follow students, how those funds may vary based on student status, how student enrollment plays into the process and more.

University Park Elementary Calendar

3 ways to access calendar information! Go to the University Park Website,  click on the CALENDAR ICON, or look below!

*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls (all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
5 Star Wizard Hat Students

Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior.

Last week's students include:  Lukas Daniels, Mack Shirey, Zyrik Pena, Grayson Johnson, Lifko Cuyul, Jaiden Lewis, Dalia Gutierrez, Nora Castelo, Aspen Chaidez, Ethan Hale, Reece Rotherham, William Bollmann, Ruikai Cao, Ruby Bullock, Sam Davis, Jake Nederveld, Jayden Reed, Owen Becker, Jeremiah Simpson, Emery Boyle, Phoenix Kephart, Crosby Stutz, Brenna Jones, Miles Noble, Presley Finley, Mason Baldwin, Lara Olsthoorn, and Rowan Mitchell.

Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.    Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation.
