 Valentine's Day Classrooms will celebrate Valentine's Day on Friday, February 13th. If you intend to send Valentines with your child, please remember to have one for each child in the class. In the interest of our students' healthy bodies, we ask that no candy be attached to the Valentine cards.

 Spring Book Fair Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings to school the books kids want to read. It's a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child's reading habits. Book Fair dates: February 23, 2015 - February 27, 2015 Shopping hours: 8:00am - 8:55am and 4:00pm - 5:00pm all week (Monday - Friday) Location: Library Mrs. Nakashima would appreciate help from parents with setting up the book fair and book sales during the fair. - Girls on the Run spring registration starts February 2nd and there only 20 spots available. Girls on the Run inspires girls to a lifetime of self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through an innovative program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk race with a fun, health education lesson plan. We will meet Mondays (starting March 2nd) and Fridays after school. GOTR is open to 3rd through 5th grade girls. For more information about the program go to www.girlsontherunrockies.org. Questions? - On February 17th, the Department of Extended Learning is offering a Dismissal Day camp incorporating a lot of technology, filming, and video editing at University Park...students will spend the day making a movie and at the end of the day, show their film to an audience (parents). If you are interested check out this flyer and if you would like to register then fill out the registration form and return to Omid Amini at University Park.

More Congratulations! - Congrats to Molly Hallam (4th grade) and Leah Elsner (5th grade) for participating in the DPS Science Fair at the Denver Zoo!
- The Semantics Team participated in our second district spelling bee at Bradley Elementary on Thursday, January 29th and we have GREAT NEWS! Out of approximately 50 students from neighboring elementary AND middle schools...we had SIX team members in the Top Ten, TWO in the Top Five Championship Round Angelina Holm (3rd grade) and Jackson White (4th grade) and Angelina WON! She went back and forth with an eighth grader for multiple rounds and was victorious! It was an amazing day of hard work, fun and excitement!
