10 One of a Kind, Awesome, Behind the Scenes Tours

One of the most popular items at our annual auction are one of a kind experiences and behind the scenes tours.  These are FREE donations and everyone loves them!

This year, we are trying to get 10 cool, one of a kind, awesome behind the scenes tours.  Do you or someone you know have something to offer up?  A grocery store tour, a plant tour, a sports stadium tour, behind the curtain tour?  Not sure?  Email Dana O'Connor at auction@uparkelementary.org with your idea.  Be part of the 10 awesome experiences!
Re-Gift a Card?

Were you lucky enough to get a gift card over the holidays...but...it is not to one of your favorite places?  Donate it to the UPark Silent Auction!  Cards can be left in the front office.

Parents, we are excited to kick off Jump Rope for Heart!  Your student is becoming a Heart Hero by taking care of his or her own heart, spreading the message of the American Heart Association, and raising funds for lifesaving research.  Have your student jump online at heart.org/jump to send emails and ask for donations.  ANY STUDENT WHO GOES ONLINE AND GETS A DONATION WILL BE RECOGNIZED AND RECEIVE THE SUPER PUP AND NINJA STAR PUPPIES. Students that register at heart.org/jump and raise at least $150.00 online BEFORE the kickoff presentation on February 5th, 2016 will be honored at the kick off and receive Toby! All donations must be received by 6pm the day before the kickoff.
We need volunteers !  We are in need of volunteers for behind the scenes planning, handing out and organizing "the ducks", counting donations, organizing end of event prizes, day of event station workers, and much more.  If you would like to help out with the Jump Rope for Heart event please contact Tracy Hartin at tracy_hartin@dpsk12.org.

Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior.

Last week's students include: Catalina Leisure, Molly Hallam, Naeshawn Franklin, Hannah Shigio, James Merkle, Malcom Schleicher, Cash Wheeler, Elna Kristensson, Gavin Arnold, Kyra Hornung Standell, Noah Johnson, Trevor Welch, Holly Mugisha, Jude Zec, Sam Davis, Preslie Holmes, Julian LeClaire, Ali Yassin, Mateo Gochman-Moreno, Karma Montoya, Ramsey White, Owen Fairchild, Abby Baker.

Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.  Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation.

*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls(all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
