Principal Update:

Believe it or not, the first trimester of school is complete!  Report cards go home tomorrow.  Please make sure to sign and return the report card envelope, while keeping the report card at home.

Becoming a principal has been a professional goal of mine for some time.  It's hard to express how fulfilled I feel walking into work each day, knowing the extraordinary talent we have on our staff, the incredible parent support, and of course, the special spark that each one of our students brings daily.  I cannot imagine a more perfect setting than University Park to have started my Principal career.

That being said, I am always looking for ways to improve.  We've made lots of changes during the past 3 months around communication, technology, safety, and overall school processes.  I asked the CSC to create a quick survey to help me gather feedback on how parents feel the first trimester has been under my leadership.  Please take the time to provide your feedback.  The survey is in the CSC section of this newsletter.  If this survey does not cover specific feedback you would like to provide, please feel free to schedule personal time with me through the office staff.

I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving, and hope you enjoy the week off with family and friends.  This year, I am very thankful for my new University Park Family.

PTA & CSC News:

PTA

The PTA has assembled a Grant Writing Committee to find and select grant opportunities that meet UPark's needs, write these grants, review grants written by others, and track their outcomes.  We could use your help!  Do you know of a great grant opportunity?  Does your work provide matching funds?  Would you like to join the team?  Let us know by sending an email to [email protected].

Our next PTA meeting is Tuesday, December 2 at 6 pm.  Childcare will be provided.

Thank you to UPark's ELA team, Rebecca Johnson, Nancy Ragab, and Anita Murano-Sweetman, for planning a fun and delicious Multicultural Night last week!

CSC

Please take a few minutes to complete the brief survey below.  All responses are anonymous, and your feedback will provide valuable information to the CSC and Mr. Varveris.  Please complete by Monday, December 1st.
