Denver Public Schools' SPF (school performance framework) data for the 2016-17 school year has been released.  I am very proud that University Park maintained green status and continues to show growth in most areas! Fun Run and Carnival: Sunday, October 22nd 11:30am-2:30pm

 
Registration is ONLINE! Click HERE to register.  DEADLINE is Monday, Oct
16th! 

Paper registration packets are in the front office if needed. Day of registration is also available, but costs $5 more per participant, and you will not receive your race t-shirts before the event. Please let the front office or the school s ocial worker, Steve Nederveld, know if you would like to request a scholarship for this event.
 
We still need carnival volunteers and dads to barbecue lunch too!  To help, please click HERE.

Morning Running Begins Next Week!
 
The Wellness Committee and Ms. Hartin will be hosting morning running around the school track from 8:40am to 8:55am next Monday-Friday.  Kids can earn charms and prizes for their grade by participating. Get out there early and get running!


2017-18 Apple Campaign

Remember, the grade with the most donations by November 10th wins a popcorn party and students become Apple All-Stars! You can donate online HERE  or drop a check made out to UPark PTA in the front office. All donations are tax deductible and go towards paying for 2.5 teachers at UPark. Thank you!

Spirit
Spirit Week
 
University Park is having a spirit week! Your child can dress differently for each day of the week. Spirit Week is October 16th - October 20th.
 
Monday: PJ Day- Come to school in your pajamas. Pajamas must follow the school dress code and no slippers allowed
Tuesday: Twin Day- Plan to dress similar to another student
Wednesday: Sports Day- Wear clothes of your favorite sports team
Thursday: Character Day- Dress up as your favorite book, movie, or TV character
Friday: UPark Spirit Day- Wear your Fun Run t-shirt or other UPark spirit gear!
 
Remember your child does NOT have to participate if they don't want to, it is optional, but we hope they will. Thank you!

Hello UPark Families,
 
There is no school on October 26th - 27th and November 3rd, BUT we will have Discovery Camps at UPark!
 
Each day we will have programming from 6:30am to 6pm. You can drop your student off and pick them up at any time in between. We will provide a morning snack and afternoon snack, but you will have to send them with a lunch. The cost of the October Camp is $71.50 and the cost for the November Camp is $35.75. Please see below for the daily schedule and the registration links.

5 Star Wizard Hat Students
 
Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior. 
 
Last week's students include: Vidalia Dobbins, Gavin Demers, Lilly Jo Wills, Karis Boroughs, Mikey Shand, Dyson Landy-Hemley, Jai Benford, Patrick Monahan, Liam Baker, Charlie Davis, Sophia Inghilterra, Reese MacDonald, Mohammed Alsaadawi, Liam Sturgeon, Joey Roedel, Annika Morton, Harmony Mora, Lulu Blanchard, Spencer Posey, Charlotte Hayes, Luciana Salgado, Ikram Fakhraoui, Anna Stokesbury, Shener Zhang, Yuwei Li.  


 
Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.  Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation. 
*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls (all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
