Important reminder! On mornings when the weather is bad, doors 3 (main door), 5 (staff parking lot door) and 9 (recess door) will be opened at 8:40. All students are expected to head to the gym or to the cafeteria for breakfast. There is no kiss and go lane, but you may drop your children off at the main door or send them to one of the other open doors. Please follow all rules of the road and park only in legally designated areas. Do not park on the school/east side of St. Paul Street. Make sure to leave a few minutes early on these mornings to accommodate for traffic congestion.

Before School Running Program Updates!!
 
The Wellness Committee would like to congratulate Mrs. Nakashima's class on running the most laps! They ran 123 laps and will be recognized with a class party.
 
The individuals that ran the most laps are Maximilian Henze, who ran 52 laps, and and Logan Lloyd, who ran 26 laps!  They each received an iTunes gift card.
 
Way to go, and see you in the spring!!

Annual Thanksgiving Lunch
Friday, November 13

University Park welcomes students and families to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with a turkey lunch in the school cafeteria on Friday, November 13th. The lunch will be held at your student's regularly scheduled lunch time. 

Prices for guests:
Child (Non-Student) $3.00
Adult $5.00
*You can pay in the lunchroom on the 13th (pay by check or with cash-small bills only)

Science Fair Information Night
Thursday, October 22nd from 6:00-7:00 PM

Please join us, tonight, as we invite back John Harrington, DPS science teacher, to explain the nuts and bolts of a science fair project!  Parents will meet John in the auditorium to hear a science fair project overview, see a sample project, and participate in a Q &  A.  While parents are learning about the science fair, students in grade 3-5 are invited to participate in some hands-on science with Ms. Kull, Ms. McMahon, and Mrs. Nakashima in the gym. Hope to see you there!

5 Star Wizard Hat Students:

Congratulations to last week's 5 Star Wizard Hat students! They were recognized by their teachers for positive behavior. 

Last week's students include: Noah Johnson, Austen Ford, Jacob White, Adrianna Panella, Carlee Erb, Anna Muilenburg, Tristan Perez, Anne Zheng, Trevor Welch, Brendan Seitz, Sophia Cho, Nona Slevin, Zachary Collisson, Rayna Moss, Logan Shirey, Annabella Ruchaber, Liam Nugent, Amielia Lauritano, Mason Baldwin, Chloe Zheng, Ava Rogala, Maddie Groth, Adrian Beach, Eilee Brutsch, Bennett Ruchaber, Elena Galemba.

  
Wizard Hats are given throughout UPark to celebrate students' good choices and positive behavior. We use a common vocabulary and teach Critical Thinking skills using the BrainWise curriculum.  Each week there is a random drawing of 2 students done by classroom teachers. These children are photographed and receive a token of our appreciation.

*At the end of each month we will be donating all clothing in the lost and found and anything left in the halls(all clothing will go into our little red school house in our parking lot).
