The Apple Campaign is the PTA's direct giving campaign. It is one of only two fundraisers used to provide an annual $120,000 grant to UPark which covers the cost of TWO full-time homeroom teachers and TWO paraprofessionals. This year the goal is to raise $70,000 by October 31st. Please consider giving to our Apple campaign today by donating online at  http://uparkelementary.org/get-involved/donate/ or by bringing a check to the UPark office payable to UPark PTA. Thank you for your consideration!

walktoschool
Walk or Bike to School Day

Join University Park on Wednesday, October 5th  to walk or bike to school!

Looking for a healthy way to start the day? Jump-start your morning  by walking with your child to school. Take some time to promote health, safety and the environment by walking  with your child to school - or just simply taking a walk together. When you get to school, find gym teacher, Tracy Hartin's table, sign the banner, and get a sticker that says you participated in Walk to School day!

Do you live too far away?  Do you ride the bus?
If you live too far from your child's school to walk or you ride the bus, you can drive part of the distance, then park and walk the rest of the way or meet us on the track before school and show your support.

Walking to school is a great way to be a part of a global event and to promote health, to identify safer routes for walking, and to improve air quality.

Walk for fitness and walk for fun!  See you on the track!

University Park Directory

Don't miss out on the 2016-17 UPark Directory.  Every year, parent volunteers create a student directory for our UPark families. You should have received an email confirming your family's information or giving you the option to opt out of the directory.  Please respond to that email by tomorrow, Friday, September 16, 2016 or your child will not be included in the directory. If you did not receive an email about the directory or have questions, email Dana O'Connor  at  [email protected].

Looking for Volunteers on the Auction Planning Committee

The UPark Annual Auction takes place in the spring, but planning it begins now. The more people we have working to make the auction happen, the more fun it is for all involved! There are several areas in which you can contribute. Some ways do not involve meetings and can be done at home via email/phone. If you are more social, you can pick an area that gets you out of the house interacting with people.
Here are the areas we need help in:
  • Item Acquisition & Procurement
  • Teacher Experiences
  • Parent & One of a Kind Experiences
  • Class Art Projects
  • Marketing/Communications
  • Live Event Games and Fun
  • Audio Visual
If any of these areas sound like they might be a match for your talents and time, or you just want to learn more, email Dana  O'Connor

Join all your favorite toys from the Army Men to the Potato Heads and find out what goes on when your child leaves the room and the toys are left to their own devices. Follow Sally, the vintage cowgirl, as she comes face to face with the newest, most technologically advanced toy, Sammy Spaceman. Consumed with jealousy, Sally and her pals do everything they can to ditch Sammy only to realize that the only way they can get back home is if they work together. A story of trust, friendship, and camaraderie, Toys teaches the importance of working as an ensemble and supporting each other onstage and off!
